This policy explains how JHENK uses your personal information when you visit jhenk.shop or buy from us. We collect only what we need to run the store.

Who is responsible for your information

JHENK is the controller of your personal information for the purposes of the UK General Data Protection Regulation and the Data Protection Act 2018. Contact us about privacy at support@jhenk.shop.

What we collect

Order information: your name, billing and delivery address, email address, phone number if you give it, the items you order and your order history.
Payment information: payments are handled by our payment service providers. We receive confirmation of payment and limited details such as the card type and last four digits, but never your full card number.
Account information: if you create an account, your login email and a securely stored password.
Messages: anything you send us by email, such as questions, return requests and complaints.
Technical information: the information your browser sends when you visit, such as IP address and browser type, which our hosting provider records in server logs for security.

Why we use it and our legal basis

To take, fulfil and deliver your order, including sending order and dispatch emails: performance of our contract with you.
To handle returns, refunds and complaints: performance of our contract and our legal obligations under consumer law.
To keep accounting and tax records: legal obligation.
To prevent fraud and keep the website secure: our legitimate interests in protecting our customers and business.
To answer your questions: our legitimate interests in providing customer service.

We do not send marketing emails, we do not use advertising or analytics cookies, and we do not sell your information.

Who we share it with

Payment service providers (for example Stripe or PayPal, depending on the method you choose at checkout) to process your payment and prevent fraud. They act under their own privacy policies for some purposes.
Our fulfilment partner, which prepares and ships orders, receives your name, delivery address, phone number if given and the items ordered.
Delivery carriers, to deliver your parcel and provide tracking.
Our website hosting and email providers, which store data on our behalf.
Authorities, where the law requires it.

International transfers

Because orders may be prepared and shipped from outside the UK, your order and delivery information may be transferred to countries outside the UK. Where a country does not have UK adequacy status, we use safeguards approved under UK law, such as the International Data Transfer Agreement or the UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses. How long we keep it

Order and payment records: 6 years after the end of the financial year of the order, for tax and accounting.
Customer service emails: 2 years after the matter is closed.
Accounts: until you ask us to delete your account, subject to the order record period above.

Your rights

You have the right to access your personal information, to have it corrected, to have it erased, to restrict or object to our use of it, and to data portability. To use any of these rights, email support@jhenk.shop. We will respond within one month.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please contact us first. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
